Flash Dance: Waltz of the Flowers
Sunday, August 15 , 2010, 5:30 – 8:30 pm

Ever hear of "flash mobs"? They're spontaneous gatherings that bring people together on short notice for a brief period of time. Well, here's your chance to join dancers and musicians for a "flash dance" – an opportunity to waltz or contra in a public place . For more on "Flash Dances" see: http://www.childgrove.org/flashdances/flashdance_howto.htm
Place: Missouri Botanical Garden
The Missouri Botanical Garden was closed to the public that night; so it was our chance to "dance like nobody is looking". Waltz. Walk. Waltz some more. Waltz in the fountain, waltz on the path, waltz for the roses. And the roses and the fountains waltz for us.
Here's a wonderful video by Mac McKeever of our evening at the Garden in 2010. The background music is from Laurie Fisher's CD, The Sweetheart Tree. Enjoy!

How to find us
On Sunday, August 15, 2010, we met in the Garden's Main Lobby and entered as a group at 5:30 pm. We had exclusive use of The Garden after it closed to the public.
We danced in a maze, through a fountain, under a pagoda, on a bridge, and near some Amazon Water Lilies.
This year we danced in some of our favorite sites and added 1 or 2 new venues.
The Aug 15 Flash Dance was mainly waltzes since it's taking the place of our August Waltz Party.
- We started out waltzing through the Maze.
- We danced near the angel statue and fountain just west of Henry Shaw’s house.
- We made our way to the English Woodland Garden and dance near the stream.
- We waltzed under a pagoda, over a bridge, and on some mosaics.
- We made our annual stop at everyone’s favorite fountain.
- We ended dancing near the Amazon Water Lilies near the Climatron.
Life doesn't get much better than this.
Progressive Dance
Ever hear of a progressive dinner? Well, this is a progressive dance. We dance a few dances at each venue, then move on to the next.
What makes this place special?
