We've started holding some indoor dances!
Covid hasn't gone away completely, but it's trending down far enough that we've decided to try some indoor dances, and are holding two dances at the Monday Club in May.
All of our dances will require proof of vaccination until further notice, and depending on the viral trends, we may also require good masks. Even though dancers who are healthy and vaccinated are reasonably safe from harm, their friends and family who are either unvaccinated or unhealthy may not be safe if they are visited by someone who has been to a dance unmasked, so it's considered thoughtful, and smart, to to wear a mask to protect them.
We would require n95 or kn95 masks if masks become necessary. If you have one, please bring it! Otherwise, we'll have some available at the dance for you for a small donation.
PLEASE NOTE: Since we require that all attendees be fully vaccinated, please get your vaccination, and be ready to show your proof! If you don't want to get vaccinated, I suppose we'll just have to wait a while to have the pleasure of dancing with you again, darn it!
We also collect a list of the attendees at these dances so that if anyone does get sick, we can notify all the others to be sure and get tested (i.e., contact tracing). This is also the reason we are holding the dances at least two weeks apart - it can take that long to get symptoms. Do please let us know if you get sick in that two week period!
We also require that you sign a liability waiver, which will also be made available at the dance.
Upcoming Indoor Contra Dances

CDSS listings of Zoom events all over the country (world?). Check it out!
And if you'd like to submit an online event to CDSS you go here:
It's a zoom dance, so you'll need a zoom application program on your computer.
If you would like to help us meet our ongoing rent expense or (even better) help our callers and band musicians who count on this income to stay afloat, please consider donating! Some of us are sending in the amount we would normally use to pay to go dancing as the basis for our donations. (It's a thought...)
